Where to do sand surfing in Peru?

By vovidi

Brooklyn-based adventurer, tour leader, and travel planner, EscapingNY, heads to Peru.

Lake Huacachina, Peru, a few hours south of the capital, Lima, in the state of Ica.

One of the only true desert oases in the Americas. This is an oasis town with lush palm trees, flourishing foliage, and a tranquil lagoon which is said to have curative properties.

About 115 people live here and now must pump water in due to lowering water levels.

Enjoy sand boarding, sand surfing, and a thrill-seeking high-speed sand buggy tour in the desert or swim and row in the lake.
